SOAPnet Takes On Sony Package

BURBANK, December 16:
Nineteen movies from Sony Pictures Television, including Hitch and Something's Gotta Give, will join SOAPnet's Sunday Night Movies franchise, which airs weekly at 10 p.m.

Also included in the deal
are Fun with Dick and Jane,
starring Jim Carrey and Téa Leoni; Sleepless in Seattle, featuring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan; My Best
Friend's Wedding
, starring Julia
Roberts, Dermot Mulroney and Cameron Diaz; and Jerry Maguire, with Tom Cruise and Renée Zellweger. Other titles
include Groundhog Day, Roxanne, Fools Rush In, Postcards from the Edge, Only You and It Could Happen To You.

These films join
additional Sony titles Crazy in Alabama, Ice Castles, Loverboy, Lone Star State of Mind, Cruel Intentions 2, Mixed Nuts and Nadine in
SOAPnet's Sunday night lineup.

"SOAPnet added movies
to its programming slate a year ago in an effort to expand 'soapy' programming
and extend its reach," said Brian Frons, the president of daytime of the
Disney-ABC Television Group. "Each of the titles offers an entry point for
new viewers, accentuating SOAPnet's brand."
