SKY TV New Zealand Adds France 24 to Lineup

PARIS: The French- and English-language versions of France 24 are joining the SKY TV New Zealand platform starting July 1.

SKY TV New Zealand has 800,000 subscribers. The English version will be part of the Basic SKY package and the French version will be part of a premium offer for 7 NZD ($5) per month.

"This agreement with SKY confirms our ambition to ensure that all countries in the Asia-Pacific zone can get France 24 as easily and as widely as possible,” said Brice Bertrand, the Asia-Pacific distribution director at France 24. “What’s more, it means that all those who are going to New Zealand for the Rugby World Cup will be able to follow France 24 in two languages.”

“We are delighted to be able to expand SKY’s already extensive news channels to include France 24,” commented Kirsty Way, the corporate communications at SKY TV. “Having the French version of the channel will certainly appeal to those fluent or aspiring French-language speakers. With ten news channels now on offer, SKY has a news offering with the perspective for all tastes.”
