Sky Arts Nabs HBO Drama

LONDON: Sky Arts has licensed the rights to HBO’s critically acclaimed drama In Treatment for a daily weeknight 10 p.m. slot.

The series stars Gabriel Byrne as a psychoanalyst. Each 30-minute episode, Monday to Thursday, features a different patient, while in the Friday episode, Byrne’s character meets with his own therapist. Sky Arts premieres the show in October. The channel aims to air a repeat of the week’s episodes every Sunday.

"I think it will get a real following," John Cassy, the channel director for Sky Arts, said. "It is like a very clever soap. An innovative format and tightly written and compelling characterization leave you devouring one episode after another. We’ll be showing it the way it deserves to be seen– from the way it’s scheduled to the quality of the high definition."
