Skatoony Gets North American Treatment

TORONTO: marblemedia has begun production on the North American version of the hit British animated/live-action series Skatoony.

The new version builds on the success of the Cartoon Network U.K. series, adding new voices, older contestants, an interactive website and new animated characters, borrowed from the TELETOON series Total Drama Island. The show pits kids against quirky animated characters for prizes in a trivia game. Targeted at tweens, the new Skatoony will feature 13 half-hour episodes in English and 13 in French. TELETOON plans to air the series in spring 2010.

"The new Skatoony delivers all the fun and imagination of the original series to a whole new audience. We are very excited to bring this huge European hit to a North American market," said Mark Bishop, the executive producer and partner of marblemedia.
