SingTel Announces Lineup for Local VOD Content on mio TV

SINGAPORE, December 7: SingTel has unveiled the lineup for
Singaporean movie and TV content that will be available on demand this month on
its pay-TV platform, mio TV.

The new schedule on mio TV’s Video on Demand kicks off with
today’s exclusive TV premiere of the movie Just Follow Law, nominated for two awards at Taiwan’s Golden Horse
Awards 2007. Directed by Jack Neo, Just Follow Law stars Golden Horse Awards 2007 Best Actor nominee
Gurmit Singh and Singaporean actress Fann Wong. mio TV’s Video on Demand will
offer up other exclusive premieres of Neo’s movies, as well as critically
acclaimed local movies such as Singapore Dreaming and Truth Be Told.

mio TV will also begin airing Chinese-language variety shows
such as Comedy 2000, Jack Neo
Talkshow
and Ah Nan Ge Tai Show, produced by Jack Neo. Ah Nan Ge Tai Show will premiere exclusively on mio TV and will be
shown in its original dialect—Hokkien and Mandarin. There are also plans
to showcase 30 to 40 locally produced short films such as Big Exit and Seletar Airbase from directors like Helmi Yusof and Esther Liu Xiu
Qi.

With mio TV’s Video on Demand, subscribers will be able to
view local movies and TV content in their original language exclusively on mio
TV, together with a range of movies and TV content that includes Hollywood
blockbusters, Chinese and Cantonese movies and Korean dramas. All titles can be
viewed at any time of the day and customers can pause, rewind, fast forward and
resume watching a show. There is a 24 to 48-hour window period to watch the
movies or programs and prices range from S$1.07 to S$6.42 per title.

“We are excited to be the first digital pay-TV service in
Singapore to make exclusive local entertainment content available to the people
at home,” said Low Ka Hoe, the director of mio TV and content. “The freedom and
convenience of Video on Demand lets mio TV subscribers watch the best of local
movies in their original language whenever they want. Through this, SingTel
also hopes to give recognition to the local film and entertainment industry.”
