Brad Lyons is planning to exit his role as Seven Network’s director of production, after having been with the company for 20 years.

In the wake of his departure, both Angus Ross and Therese Hegarty will widen their responsibilities. Suzy Hounslow remains head of production, reporting to Hegarty. Rikkie Proost, currently the head of international development and production, will move to a newly created role as head of unscripted, and report to Ross. Julie McGauran remains head of drama, reporting to Ross, and Sonya Wilkes remains head of development, also reporting to Ross.

Tim Worner, the CEO of Seven West Media, said in a statement to colleagues: “Creation of original formats is considered the holy grail in our business and it’s this great achievement that has Brad Lyons regarded as one of the best by production communities both here and overseas.

“We will miss his energy, his arguments, his irreverent sense of humor and the general ‘noise’ he makes whenever he enters a room or joins a meeting.

“As Brad makes his next move, he takes with him our respect and deepest thanks for his outstanding contribution to our company.”
