The Series Mania International Festival has named the 20 screenwriters selected for this year’s UGC Writers Campus and its guests of honor, writers-producers André and Marie Jacquemetton.

The UGC Writers Campus is an intensive high-level workshop that runs from March 20 to 27, alongside the festival in Lille, and helps 20 selected screenwriters develop their projects with renowned producers and showrunners. This year, the participants will be mentored by the Jacquemettons, who wrote and produced six seasons of Mad Men with Matthew Weiner, with whom they are once again collaborating for Amazon’s The Romanoffs.

Throughout the program, the screenwriters will take part in masterclasses, writing workshops and meetings with industry professionals. On March 26, they will present their projects one-on-one to the talent and producers of Series Mania Forum and in a general presentation at Lille Grand Palais.

Laurence Herzberg, general director of Series Mania, said: “As a major festival, it is Series Mania’s responsibility to provide the emerging generation of European creators the chance to foster original stories that will both resonate with audiences and the industry. This is the mission of UGC Writers Campus.”

Brigitte Maccioni, managing director of UGC, added: “I am very proud of this partnership between UGC and Series Mania—the most important international series festival in Europe—regarding UGC Writers Campus. The UGC group, in all its activities—production, distribution, theatrical exhibition—is always empowering the authors and culture in all its diverse genres.”
