Scripps Reaches NRTC Programming Deal

KNOXVILLE, March 5: Scripps Networks has signed an agreement
with the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative (NRTC) that will provide
rural American telephone companies with its suite of lifestyle programming.

Under the agreement, NRTC members will receive programming
from HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, FINE LIVING TV Network, Great American
Country (GAC), HGTV HD and Food Network HD. The smaller telcos will be able to
deliver the programming in Internet protocol (IPTV) format and the use of
MPEG-4 compression over copper, fiber or coaxial cable.

"We are always eager to find new delivery methods for
our content, and through the hard work of our staff and NRTC we are now able to
provide our programming to these rural telcos,” said John Baird, the executive
VP of affiliate sales and marketing for Scripps Networks.

The rural utilities that make up NRTC offer services to more
than 30 million rural households across the country.
