New Kids’ Wildlife Show from South Africa

LONDON: Scorpion TV has acquired the rights for the children’s wildlife show Come Wild with Us from South Africa’s FOP.

Come Wild with Us looks on as children get up close and personal with such animals as lions, leopards, elephants, penguins and sharks in South Africa. The fast-paced 26×26-minute show also sees the youngsters explore caves, wild rivers, mountain cliffs and more. It was produced for SABC in South Africa, consistently reaching over 1.4 million viewers.

Scorpion TV has also inked a number of deals with broadcasters around the globe.

Showrunners, a doc on producing the multi-million-dollar U.S. drama series and featuring J.J. Abrams (Star Wars), has been snapped up by CANAL+ Spain, ABC Australia, SABC, YES DBS Israel, Sky Arts New Zealand and such airlines as Emirates, Cathay Pacific and Qantas.

Russia Today went for Who is Saving Whom, about the European financial crisis, and Blades on the Storyline, centered on ISIS propaganda. Portugal’s RTP acquired Who is Saving Whom; Zapped, about the science of mosquitoes; Dirty Gold War, focused on the dark side of precious metal; War Reporter, about journalists in war zones; and Forbidden Men, spotlighting Catholic priests having affairs with women.

Al Jazeera Arabic in the Middle East picked up Elemental, about three people fighting to save their environment; and A Goat for a Vote, focused on school elections in Kenya.

Over in Poland, Discovery signed up for Showrunners and Forbidden Men, while TVP took Billion Dollar Base, about the closure of Camp Bastion in Afghanistan.

Nat Geo Mundo in the U.S. acquired Cyber Bully, which highlights internet bullying, and GAIAM picked up Stem Cell Revolutions, about the latest advancements in stem cell technology.
