Saha Upped at Turner Entertainment Networks Asia

HONG KONG, December 12: Soumitra “Sunny” Saha, the current
senior VP of regional advertising sales and marketing
for Turner Entertainment Networks Asia (TENA), has been promoted to the role of
senior VP and general manager of TENA.

Saha takes over from Ian
Diamond, who resigned after a seven-year tenure at the helm of TENA and 13
years with Turner. In his new role, Saha will assume responsibility for the
overall development of Turner’s entertainment brands, including Boomerang,
Cartoon Network, POGO and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) in the Asia Pacific. Saha
began with Turner in 2000 as the director of research and strategic planning,
and in 2003, moved to Hong Kong as the company’s VP of advertising sales, also
overseeing promotional licensing. His credits include TBS's launch of HBO India
in 2000, the launch of POGO in 2004 and the launch of Galli Galli Sim Sim (the Indian version of Sesame Street) in 2006, among others.

“Sunny is a sharp, dynamic and goal-oriented leader with a
broad-based understanding of network functions,” said Steve
Marcopoto, the president of Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific.
“Through years of dedicated efforts and much success he has earned the respect
of his colleagues and proven he’s the ideal person for the job.”
