Rosie O’Donnell On Board OWN Doc Film Club

LOS ANGELES: Rosie O’Donnell has become a collaborator on the OWN Documentary Film Club, taking part in the selection of movies and hosting specials following on-air premieres.

OWN will air a one-hour special hosted by O’Donnell following the world TV premiere of Becoming Chaz in May. The doc about the sexual transformation of the daughter of pop-culture icons Sonny and Cher kicks off the OWN Documentary Film Club as the first project to air.

“We are thrilled to have Rosie be a part of the OWN Documentary Film Club,” said Lisa Erspamer, the chief creative officer of OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. “She has a great enthusiasm and sensibility for documentaries, and is the perfect choice to host the specials.”

“I love watching every documentary.  It excites me to know that OWN is as passionate about documentary films and storytelling as I am,” added O’Donnell, whose new talk show The Rosie O’Donnell Show, will premiere on OWN in fall 2011.
