Roger James Gets Expanded Legal Role at MTVNI

LONDON/NEW YORK: Roger James, the VP of business and legal affairs for MTV Networks U.K., Ireland and International, will expand his role to include all of MTVNI’s business and legal affairs.

As senior VP and general counsel for MTVNI and MTVN U.K. and Ireland, James replaces Sofia Ioannou, who was recently named managing director of MTVN Latin America. James will report to Pierluigi Gazzolo, the COO of MTVNI, and Andra Shapiro, the executive VP of business affairs for Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids & Family Group and MTVN co-general counsel, and will continue reporting into David Lynn, the executive VP and managing director of MTV Networks U.K. and Ireland. He will be based in London.

As general counsel for MTVNI, James will oversee the business and legal affairs teams based in London, New York and Miami. He will also share management responsibilities of the regional legal teams with their respective managing directors in Europe, Asia and Latin America as well as work closely with the business and legal affairs divisions at Viacom and MTV Networks U.S. As senior VP of business and legal affairs for MTV Networks U.K. and Ireland, he oversees all business and legal affairs including music and media licensing, compliance and government relations, as well as supporting the general management of MTVN U.K.’s interests in the Nickelodeon U.K. and Comedy Central U.K. joint ventures.
