re:think Secures North American, British Deals

TORONTO, February 8: The
Canadian boutique distributor re:think Entertainment has secured a number of
sales and pre-sales on several of its factual properties, including a deal with
Sundance Channel in the U.S. for Wetback: The Undocumented Documentary.

re:think has licensed the 90-minute award-winning film Wetback: The
Undocumented Documentary
exclusively to
the Sundance Channel U.S. for broadcast and to National Geographic Home Video
for North America. The film is an eye-opening look at the plight of immigrants
from Central America and Mexico during their journey in the search of the
“American Dream.”

The distribution company has
made second window pre-sales in Canada for its hour-long documentary Cubers,
with Rogers Media’s The Biography
Channel/G4TechTV, CHUM’s Access/CLT and Saskatchewan Communications Network
(SCN). Cubers, which is currently in
production from Red Cube Productions and is scheduled to premiere on CBC Canada
this fall, follows the journey of six international Speed-Cubers in their
attempts to become the World’s Fastest Cuber.

A Year On Earth, available in a one-hour version and a 90-minute HD
edition, has been picked up by Discovery Kids, Equator HD and SCN for broadcast
in Canada. Produced by U.S.-based Bahati Productions in association with the
Earthwatch Institute, A Year On Earth
follows three teenagers on a round-the-world discovery of some of the world’s
wildest places and most endangered creatures.

re:think Entertainment has also
pre-sold season two of the 10×30-minute series Race Car Driver to U.K. broadcaster UKTV G2, which is scheduled to
premiere the show in March. The second season of the series will take viewers
onto the track, into the pit and behind the scenes of the world of champion
racecar drivers and the international 2006 Champ Car Racing Series. Both
seasons one and two have recently been acquired for Australian home video/DVD
release by Capricorn Media.

Sun Media has acquired the
13×30-minute youth travel series Get Outta Town!, the ongoing series produced by Toronto’s The Nightingale
Group, for broadcast on cable and satellite in South Korea. The second season
of the series is currently in production and will be ready for premiere this
fall.
