Report: Weinsteins Ink WGA Agreement

LOS ANGELES/NEW YORK,
January 11: The Weinstein Company has reportedly reached an interim agreement
with the Writers Guild of America.

The Weinstein Company is
the second studio to come to a deal with the striking writers, following a
similar move by United Artists earlier this week.

“We need to get people
back to work,” Harvey Weinstein is quoted as saying in the New York Times. The newspaper reports that the agreement includes
provisions that would allow it to be superseded by a contract between WGA and
the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).
