Reed MIDEM Releases Final MIPCOM Numbers

PARIS, October 20: The final tally of this year’s MIPCOM
puts attendance at 12,509, its highest participation ever, showing a 7-percent
increase on MIPCOM 2005.

This year also marked a new record in terms of participating
companies, with 4,216 from 98 countries, an 8-percent increase. The number of
buyers rose 10 percent with a total of 3,847 acquisitions executives in
attendance.

"The success of MIPCOM reflects the extraordinary
evolution of audiovisual content and the industry as a whole," said Paul
Johnson, Reed MIDEM's director of the television division. "By expanding
the conference program and extending the exhibition area with the new Lerins
Hall, we aim to encourage more networking and business opportunities for our
clients including those people operating in advertising, cinema, internet and
mobile."

The four-day MIPCOM conference program, entitled
"Reshaping Media," staged a total of 29 sessions, with 83 speakers
and 6 keynote speakers: George Bodenheimer of ESPN, Beth Comstock of NBC
Universal, Harry Sloan of MGM, Anne Sweeney of Disney Media Networks/Disney-ABC
Television Group, Sanjiv Ahuja of Orange and Todd Wagner of 2929 Entertainment.
MIPCOM also hosted its new Breakfast with Gurus strand, with Simon Assaad, the
co-CEO and co-founder of Heavy Inc.; Keith Chapman, creative director of
Chapman Entertainment; Graeme Ferguson, the former director of global content
development for Vodafone Group; and Ben Silverman, the CEO of Reveille. Richard
D. Parsons, the chairman and CEO of Time Warner, was the MIPCOM Personality of
the Year.
