ProSiebenSat.1 & Mediaset On Board New Tandem Movie

MUNICH: Tandem Communications has a new movie in the works, Treasure Guards, with network partners ProSiebenSat.1 of Germany and Italy’s Mediaset.

Principal photography has begun in South Africa. The film is budgeted at $6 million. The story follows an archaeologist who is on a dig in Hebron, where she discovers an ancient scroll that could lead her to Solomon’s Diamond Mines, which would be the discovery of the millennium. When the scroll is stolen from her, she teams up with an agent from a covert Vatican organization, known as the "treasure guards." The film is directed by Iain B. Macdonald (Mansfield Park, Survivor). Executive producers are Jonas Bauer, Rola Bauer and Tim Halkin.

“After many years of supplying the market with event movies in the action/adventure genre, last year we created the Action Pack(ed) label for such productions,” said Jonas Bauer. “Our clients worldwide continue to embrace action/adventure programs and we aim to fulfill this need. Treasure Guards is the second film produced for this label and we’re thrilled to have our first production venture with Mediaset and to partner again with ProSiebenSat.1.”
