Promotions at SPE Networks—Asia

HONG KONG: SPE Networks—Asia (SPENA) has upped two executives on its senior management team, with a number of other changes to the middle management.

Voo Chih Yeong has been promoted from executive director to VP of affiliate sales and marketing. He is responsible for all sales and marketing activities, working with pay-TV partners, as well as network distribution across the region. Voo also continues as head of Sony Entertainment Television, SPENA’s new female-skewed entertainment channel. He reports to Ricky Ow, the senior VP and general manager of SPE Networks—Asia.

Wong Yan-Jong was upped from executive director to VP of AXN Asia. Wong oversees all programming, marketing and creative services functions of both AXN and AXN Beyond in the region.

Kim Sang-Im, currently the director of Korea and digital media, is adding to her responsibilities by taking on network promotions. She will work closely with the operations team to plan the most effective cross-promotional strategy to boost the profile of the four linear channels across the various pay-TV platforms in the region.

Jacky Foo is relocating from the group’s Singapore office to Taiwan to take on the role of director, charged with overseeing operations. Foo leads the programming, marketing and network presentation functions of the Taiwan team. The advertising sales for Taiwan continues to be handled by Steven Tsou as executive director.

Wong Yan-Jong, Kim Sang-Im and Jacky Foo will all report to Ang Hui Keng, the senior VP of channels management and finance.

There have also been a number of appointments within the marketing teams at AXN and Animax. Tay Ying Hui, previously the associate director of marketing for AXN and AXN Beyond, heads to the programming team as associate director of programming. Replacing Tay is Judy Chow, who leavers her marketing role at Animax Asia to take on the title of director of marketing for AXN Asia and AXN Beyond.

At Animax, the marketing team headed by Chow will now be led by Gregory Ho, the VP and general manager forAnimax Asia. He will be assisted by Tracy Wong, the director of creative services for Animax Asia, who will oversee the integration of off- and on-air marketing efforts.
