Pre-NATPE Deals for Imira

BARCELONA, January 13: Imira Entertainment heads into NATPE with a raft of deals already in place with U.S. and Latin American broadcasters, and will be looking for further sales on its animated and live-action fare.

The animated series Lola & Virginia scored further deals with Mexico’s Canal Once, following Brazil’s SBT renewal of the show. The Brazilian broadcaster also picked up the licensing and merchandising rights, with New Star taking home-entertainment rights for the territory and Quality Films picking up home-entertainment rights for Chile.

Vitaminix landed two U.S. Spanish-language deals, with Somos TV and Mega TV taking on the kids’ show. Film Ideas took on the non-theatrical rights in the U.S. and Canada.

Imira also scored deals for a number of its third-party titles. Disney Latin America took on 64 Zoo Lane, while Discovery Kids Latin America picked up new episodes of Louie and Discovery Hispanic U.S. acquired all 39 episodes of Louie. Both shows are Millimages productions. Planet Nemo’s preschool series Bali went to U.S. Spanish-language channel ¡Sorpresa!

64 Zoo Lane, Louie and Lola & Virginia are all highlights on Imira’s NATPE slate, along with Wicked Science. The Elephant Princess from Jonathan M. Schiff and ZDF Enterprises rounds out the offerings.

Begona Esteban, the sales manager for Imira Entertainment, said: "We have significantly expanded our library this year and are now in a position to offer volume deals across our library which includes award-winning preschool, animated comedy and international live action. We are really looking forward to attending NATPE; Latin America continues to be a priority for us and we look forward to forging new partnerships in the territory."
