Power Scores New Latin American Agreement

LONDON, October 10: Power
has announced a multi-territory deal with Televideo Services that will see more
than 200 hours of prime-time TV mini-series and films distributed across key
Latin American countries.

Televideo Services, based
in Miami, is a holding group that has interests in 50-plus TV and radio
stations throughout Latin America. The list of stations owned or affiliated
with the group includes stations in Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala,
Mexico, Paraguay, Nicaragua, Peru, Dominican Republic and Chile.

Power’s first deal with
Televideo was brokered by Pepe Echegaray, Power’s VP of sales for Latin
America, and Angel Gonzalez, the president of Televideo Services.

The package of both new
and established productions includes around 40 mini-series and movies from the
Power and RHI Entertainment catalogues. They include Flood, The Tenth
Kingdom
, Dinotopia, Dracula and The Ten Commandments.
The alliance also covers a package of 15 films including titles from the
successful Power Thrillers stable such as Lies and Deception, False Pretences, Fatal Trust and Live Once Die Twice.

The agreement encompasses
ten countries including Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican
Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Paraguay and Peru.

“As one of Latin America’s
leading media companies, Televideo Services is naturally sought after by
studios, independent distributors and producers to secure carriage of their
product,” said Echegaray. “For us to have closed a negotiation of this scale
and complexity was no easy task in what remains a highly competitive
marketplace.”
