Power, Company Pictures Align for C4 Drama

LONDON, September 5: Power
is working with Company Pictures on The Devil’s Mistress, a new period drama for Channel 4 starring 300 star Dominic West.

The mini-series, also
known as The Devil’s Whore, is
set against the backdrop of the English Civil War, following the trials and
tribulations of Angelica Fanshawe (Andrea Riseborough) as she exploits a
country in crisis in a bid to better her own position. West stars as Oliver
Cromwell, who is befriended by Angelica as he begins his reign over England.

The Devil’s Mistress is directed by Marc Munden and produced by Jake
Lushington. The executive producers are Justin Bodle for Power, George Faber and Charlie Pattinson for Company Pictures
and Peter Flannery and Martine Brant.

Bodle, the founder and
chief executive at Power, noted: “We are delighted to be working with Company
Pictures and Channel 4 on a landmark piece of event television featuring some
of history’s most controversial and fascinating figureheads.”
