PorchLight to Adapt Diary Book Series for TV

LOS ANGELES, September 16:
PorchLight Entertainment has teamed up with Pascualina Productions to develop Pascualina, a tween-targeted animated series based on the
diary books of the same name.

The Pascualina diary series, created by Paulina Mockeberg, has
sold more than 5 million copies worldwide. The diaries tell the story of a girl
named Pascualina, her friends, family and pets.

Inspired by the unique
design of journals, the TV series will feature a “doodled” look in 2-D
animation. Each half-hour episode will feature relevant stories for kids aged 6
to 12.

“We are thrilled to be
working with Pascualina Productions,” said Bruce Johnson, PorchLight’s
president and CEO. “In the Pascualina diaries, creator Paulina Monckeberg has made a unique world with
exciting designs. The international flavor of the designs and the rich story
lines provide great source material for the television series.”

Shea Fontana, PorchLight’s
manager of children’s programming, added, “The Pascualina book
series offers adolescents a chance to share their lives with Pascualina, who is
on the same emotional journey through life and growing up. We are excited to
bring this fun and intimate relationship between the audience and characters to
the television series.”
