Playboy Enterprises Names Mobile Chief

NEW YORK, August 3:
Playboy Enterprises has tapped former Sony executive Edward S. Lang to fill the
newly created position of senior VP and general manager of mobile in its
Entertainment Group.

Lang will be responsible
for the global strategy, expansion and oversight of Playboy's mobile and
wireless businesses. He will report to Jim Griffiths, the senior executive VP
of Playboy Enterprises and president of entertainment and will be based in the
Los Angeles office.

"The mobile business
is one of the company's fastest growing revenue streams and an important aspect
of Playboy's strategy as we aim to provide Playboy content to our customers
across all entertainment platforms," said Griffiths. "Playboy content
for mobile—such as ring tones, wallpaper and video clips—is
available in more than 30 countries including Brazil, Japan and Germany. We are
pleased to have Ed on board with his extensive knowledge of the mobile business
to pursue new opportunities and accelerate the expansion of this
business."

Lang most recently held
the position of VP of mobile initiatives with Sony Corporation. He is also a
former executive director for mobile content at America Online.
