Planet Earth Gets HD Launch on British iTunes

LONDON: Planet Earth has become the first U.K. title to launch in high definition on the iTunes Store.  

The HD file is available now for download through iTunes in the U.K. Planet Earth joins other BBC Worldwide series such as Little Britain, Doctor Who and Top Gear on the platform, but is currently the only title available in HD. 

Simon Danker, BBC Worldwide’s director of digital media, said: "We are thrilled to have Planet Earth as the first U.K. series available to fans in such incredible quality. It is one of the BBC Natural History Unit’s most definitive visual experiences and now it can be watched anywhere and anytime."
