PGS Heads to MIPCOM with Record Number of Kids’ Series

PARIS: Touting its largest slate of new shows to date, PGS Entertainment will be presenting titles such as I.N.K.: Invisible Network of Kids, George & Barbra and Iron Man: Armored Adventures, based on the popular Marvel superhero.

Iron Man: Armored Adventures, a CGI series developed by Method Animation with Marvel Animation, is set to air this year on Nicktoons in the U.S., TELETOON in Canada, ABC in Australia, France 2, Rai Gulp in Italy and Jetix in the U.K., France, Spain, Nordics, Eastern Europe and Latin America. The series is also set for Globo in Brazil, Televisa in Mexico, CTC in Russia, Cartoon Network in Asia and Orlando Kids in Ex-Yugoslavia. Philippe Soutter, the managing director of PGS Entertainment, said, “This brilliant series presents Iron Man as a teenager, which appeals to an even wider range of broadcasters worldwide. With the strong ratings which the show generated from its premiere airings in the U.S., U.K., Australia and Canada, we are very enthusiastic about presenting Iron Man: Armored Adventures to the broadcast marketplace Cannes.”

Through a representation deal with Samka Productions, PGS has picked up worldwide distribution rights, excluding Asia, for I.N.K.: Invisible Network of Kids. A number of broadcasters have already signed up to launch the series this fall, among them France 3, SuperRTL in Germany, RTBF in Belgium, ABC in Australia and MTV3 in Finland. PGS will share distribution of Samka’s and Marsu Productions’ much-anticipated Marsupilami: Hooba Hooba Hop! series with ZDF. Currently in development is Jamie’s Got Tentacles, Samka’s latest flash series that PGS will support for pre-financing. Soutter commented: “Samka has proven its ability to produce top-rated comedies all over the world on all major networks. We are very pleased to be representing their catalogue of programming, and look forward to introducing our clients to these great new characters.”

A series of 3-minute interstitials, TOOBO: The Animated Weather Forecast for Kids will be available for the international market from PGS, complete with adaptable graphics and interchangeable clothes so that it’s easily customizable for any country. The show made its broadcast debut in 2008 on Gulli and Tiji in France, and now ranks amongst the top five shows on the network. “The weather forecast is the ultimate internationally successful program, because the weather affects everyone in the world," said Soutter. "Broadcasters have been in discussions for many years to develop a way to produce a weather forecast for kids. InteractifFactory has solved that problem, in a smart and kid friendly way, which also bringing eco values to the table. We look forward to introducing this project to broadcasters worldwide.”

Further series on offer from PGS include The Little Prince of Saint-Exupéry from Method Animation, LP Animation, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and DQ Entertainment, starring the classic character from Saint-Exupery’s original book; George & Barbra, Moving Puppet’s new comedy; and League of Super Evil, a CGI HD series from Nerd Corps Entertainment.
