LOS ANGELES: Entertainment One (eOne) has secured a three-year broadcasting deal in the U.S. for Peppa Pig with Nick Jr.

Peppa Pig is slated to make its U.S. debut in early 2011 on Nick Jr. as a scheduled half-hour format. The series has aired on Nick Jr. in the U.K. and Channel Five’s Milkshake block. It is currently the top rated preschool show on both channels. Following the U.S. launch, eOne will be looking to develop a full branded licensing and merchandising program specific to North America.

Darren Throop, the CEO of Entertainment One, said: "The agreement with Nick Jr. has the potential to be a transformational step forward for the Peppa Pig franchise and for eOne’s family operations, which continue to be a major strategic growth platform for our company. We are confident that Peppa will be as popular with children and families in the U.S. as she is in the U.K. and look forward to leveraging Peppa‘s expanded fan base to grow the franchise around the world."
