Parthenon Invests in Canadian Firm

LONDON: Parthenon Entertainment Group has picked up a minority stake in Canada’s Arcadia Entertainment, a production outfit that has delivered content to the likes of the CBC, Discovery Channel and National Geographic.

The move gives Parthenon a Canadian production partner as well as more than 50 hours of additional content each year. Parthenon has also secured a first-look option to acquire the exclusive international distribution rights on all Arcadia-originated productions. The companies intend to explore new format and co-production initiatives across drama, kids and specialist factual.

"As everyone knows, these are challenging times," said Carl Hall, the CEO of Parthenon. "By forming a strategic relationship with Arcadia, the culmination of nearly ten years working together, we can build on strengths and partnerships which will benefit both companies as we move forward."
