Ovation TV to Air Designer People

CANNES, October 16: Designer
People, a 13-part series from
Australia’s DemonAngel that looks at the world’s leading designers, will make
its U.S. premiere on Ovation TV this November.

Hosted by Lee Lin Chin,
each half-hour episode is a self-contained profile of one of the world’s
leading designers in architecture, fashion, communication, interiors or
industrial design.

The first five episodes of
Designer People will premiere
on Ovation TV as part of its “Everything is Art” programming event in November.
The remaining eight episodes will premiere after the first of the year. “We’re very excited about this
series,” said Kris Slava, the senior VP of programming and production for
Ovation TV. “It’s such a fresh approach to the television profile format and the
designers featured are so gifted and unique that you can’t take your eyes off
them. This series illustrates beautifully the interconnectedness of designers
across the disciplines and around the world. DemonAngel has done an incredible
job capturing that global spirit.”

“Designer People is about
a group of exceptional creatives, some of whom are quite high profile and
others who are emerging or even underground,” commented Ross Close, the
managing director of DemonAngel. “Very few designers now operate within
national boundaries and cultural specifics. Our aim was to let the designers
set the creative agenda and then to follow their creative connections wherever
they took us. By using hosts from Asia, Europe and the Americas we are also
able to cover the topic from a ‘globally local’ perspective.”
