Outright Picks Up Car Bomb

LONDON, September 11:
Outright Distribution has landed distribution rights from Many Rivers Films to
the two-part Car Bomb, which
explores how this weapon has shaped the course of human conflict.

Car Bomb uncovers the weapon’s history through footage and
interviews with car bombers. The program, originally produced for Channel 4, is
fronted by ex-CIA agent Robert Baer, whose life was depicted by George Clooney
in the movie Syriana.

The show joins other
factual programming in Outright’s catalogue, including Outlaw Bikers and The Mafia. The four-part Outlaw Bikers looks at America’s biker gangs and has been sold into the U.K.,
Greece, Cyprus, Sweden, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. The four-part series
The Mafia, which shows how
fascination with the Mafia has never been stronger, has sold into 11
territories.

“Car Bomb is a serious but explosive-packed documentary
about a weapon that threatens the
globe,” said director Kevin Toolis. “It’s the first-ever film history of this
number one terrorist threat. Car Bomb won high ratings for Channel 4 and got great press coverage in the
U.K. We are very pleased to be working with Outright to promote the film across
the globe.”
