Online Game for Moonscoop’s Code Lyoko in the Works

PARIS: Moonscoop is developing a new social online game for Code Lyoko that is set to debut in spring 2012, in partnership with French video game producer 3DDUO.

The game will be launched as a Facebook application with plans to roll out to further online platforms. Recent Code Lyoko game releases include Nintendo DS, PS2, PSP and Wii. Moonscoop is currently in production with France Television and Canal J on the fifth season of the TV series, which will be live action split with CGI animated sequences.

Lionel Marty, the president of worldwide distribution and consumer products at Moonscoop, said: “Code Lyoko was first aired in 2003 and since then has grown to have a considerable fan base worldwide, which has supported the property through 97 episodes, and an extensive licensing and merchandising campaign. The Code Lyoko online community is an increasingly important part of the brand and we look forward to launching this online in the lead up to the launch of the new chapter: Code Lyoko Evolution.”
