ohm:tv, RTÉ Ink Spanish Agreement

COLOGNE: ohm:tv has landed a deal to distribute programs from Irish public service broadcaster RTÉ in Spain.

ohm:tv will have mutually exclusive distribution rights with RTÉ for its catalogue, which includes more than 200 hours of programming. Titles include the hit comedy series Killinaskully, along with various documentaries such as 100 Dead People in my Truck and The Troubles I’ve Seen and lifestyle shows like How Long Will You Live, Showhouse and The Fabulous Food Adventure. Factual programs include Charlie Bird Explores…, CustomsLiving the Wildlife and the new HD series Secrets of the Stones.

ohm:tv already has distribution deals for Spain with Austrian public broadcaster ORF, Germany’s RTL2 and the Canadian production company Breakthrough Television, as well as with a number of independent production houses. 

Hans Spielthenner, the CEO and co-founder of ohm:tv, commented, "It is a privilege to be distributing RTÉ’s shows and providing the Spanish market with good quality Irish programming. We are in the process of expanding program offerings by negotiating with several networks that wish to increase their exposure in the Spanish market and will use MIPTV to evaluate other third-party catalogues."
