NPS Heads to Italy

MIAMI: Venevision International’s new teen series NPS (No Puede Ser!) is now on air in Italy on the Frisbee channel.

The series, about two teens who both decide to participate in a reality show and compete to win an important recording contract, stars Sheryl Rubio and Rosmery Marval from the hit series Somos Tu y Yo. It is dubbed in Italian and called NPS (Non Puo’ Essere) and is available in 85 percent of households through the Frisbee channel. The Italian version features a new soundtrack of original songs performed by a cast of Italian actors and actresses. NPS originally debuted throughout Latin America last year on Boomerang.

“We were looking for a comedy teen live-action show appealing to girls—and boys inclusive—to boost the access primetime slot of Frisbee. NPS is a character driven series with a strong storytelling focused on the music element, and we believe it perfectly fits the Frisbee brand values,” said Giuliano Tranquilli, the content and programming development partner of Switchover Media. “The show has a great potential in terms of television viewing, but we are also building a strong social network activity around the concept of NPS, engaging the teenage viewers to experience the property more extensively.”
