LONDON/SOFIA: Bulgarian broadcaster TV7 will launch a localized Nickelodeon branded block this month delivering titles such as Dora the Explorer and Big Time Rush, among others.

The deal between Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) and TV7 covers four hours of Nickelodeon content a day, beginning April 25. The network will air two hours of preschool fare in the morning and then two hours of animation and live-action in the afternoon. The block will run on TV7’s cable, satellite and free-to-air terrestrial analogue platforms, including TV7 and Super 7. The Nickelodeon branded block will also be available as part of the TV7 IPTV service. The pact covers more than 20 shows and 1,000-plus episodes.

Maria Rakhmatullina-Ufland, director of international program sales for emerging markets at VIMN, commented, “Nickelodeon blocks offer broadcasters a robust and varied entertainment solution for kids 4 to 15 and we are delighted to partner with TV7 to bring our first Nickelodeon branded block to the Balkan region.”

Evelina Koleva, CEO of TV7 and Super 7, added, "Our TV channels have leading positions in the Bulgarian TV market and a partnership like this will provide significant added value for the kids’ programming lineup of both channels."
