NGCI Rolls Out Nat Geo Wild in Italy

ROME, September 6: Nat Geo Wild, a 24-hour natural history
channel from National Geographic Channels International (NGCI), will launch on
SKY Italia in October.

Nat Geo Wild will offer high-quality, blue-chip programming
that takes viewers on intimate encounters with exotic wildlife. Premiering on
the channel will be the one-hour doc special The Wolfman, which features a British researcher who has immersed
himself in a wolf pack to study their behavior up close. Programs featured in
the fourth quarter of this year will include Eye of the Leopard, the Planet Carnivore series and A Life Among Whales.

“The expansion of Nat Geo Wild into Italy is a testament to
the quality of National Geographic’s natural history programming and high demand
for the wildlife genre,” said Sydney Suissa, NGCI’s executive VP of content.

With the additions of Nat Geo Wild and its sister channel
Nat Geo Music, which will also launch in October, NGCI will have five channels
under its umbrella on the SKY platform in Italy. The new channels join National
Geographic Channel, Nat Geo Adventure and National Geographic Channel HD.
