NFB Unveils New Buyers’ Website at MIPCOM

MONTREAL: The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) returns to MIPCOM with a new buyers’ website, where clients can screen product, including newly released films, download sales sheets and connect directly with NFB salespeople.

“We’re very excited about launching or new website at MIPCOM 2009,” said Johanne St-Arnauld, the director general of distribution at the NFB. “We’re proud of the world-class films we release and delighted that buyers will be able to learn about them and make choices in a way that’s efficient, convenient, green and fun. We’ve carefully designed the site to offer one-stop shopping, which saves buyers time during a hectic content event.”

Also, just in time for MIPCOM, NFB has appointed Christina Rogers as head of sales and market development. Prior to her work with the NFB distribution team, Rogers held various roles such as the director of international acquisitions for Hallmark Channel.

NFB will be on hand presenting titles such the documentary Waterlife, which reveals the increasing toxicity of the Great Lakes. Outbreak traces the history and possible resurgence of a pandemic with the H1N1 crisis. The Coca-Cola Case exposes the possible involvement of the a corporation’s involvement in the murder of a Colombian union leader. Real Injun takes a wry look at Hollywood’s presentation of movie "indians."

From the NFB’s animation studio, The Spine depicts marital breakdown. Runaway is a vision of our world as an out-of-control train. Both are shorts.
