NEW YORK: Entries from the U.K. picked up the International Emmy Awards for news and current affairs, with wins for ITV News and Channel 4’s Dispatches.

The ITV News China Earthquake coverage won the news category, while the Dispatches special Saving Africa’s Witch Children, produced by Red Rebel Films and Oxford Scientific Films for Channel 4, won the current affairs category. These International Emmys were presented by Bruce L. Paisner, the president & CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, in New York City on September 21. The nominees for ten other International Emmys will be revealed on October 5 at MIPCOM, with winners to be announced at the 37th International Emmy Awards Gala on November 23 in New York City.
