New YTV Commission for Halifax Film

HALIFAX: The DHX Media-owned Halifax Film has received a commission from YTV for a live-action tween-oriented sketch comedy series.

Production on the 13×30-minute That’s So Weird! is set to begin immediately, with delivery of episodes expected to begin in March. The show will be represented internationally by DHX’s DECODE Enterprises. Charles Bishop, the president and executive producer of Halifax Film, said the show "will help fulfill the growing demand for tween comedies in Canada and abroad, and provide the best of sketch comedy’s traditions to introduce our youthful audience to this classic form of funny."

"Working with Halifax Film and the team behind This Hour Has 22 Minutes provides us with an excellent opportunity to deliver Canadian audiences smart, high-quality humour," added Jocelyn Hamilton, the VP of content at Corus Kids Television."
