New Talent Search Series for BBC One

LONDON, December 20: Following the success of How Do You
Solve A Problem Like Maria?
, BBC One has
announced plans for a new talent-search reality show, this time looking for the
leading cast member in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Joseph And
His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat
.

Any Dream will Do
will begin auditions in key British cities early in 2007 for a summer broadcast
on the channel. It will be hosted by Graham Norton and will feature Webber and
a panel of experts choosing a male lead who will perform in Joseph
And His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat
on
the West End next year.

How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? found Connie Fisher, who was cast as the lead in the
West End production of The Sound of Music. The show secured a 28 percent share on BBC One, and
has already been licensed as a format to AVRO in the Netherlands. The Dutch
version will look for an actress to play Eva Perón in a new production of
Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s musical Evita.
