New Ross Kemp Doc to Air on Sky

LONDON: Sky1 HD is to air the two-part documentary Ross Kemp in the Middle East, which looks at the political situation in Israel and Gaza, in January 2010.

Kemp was given unprecedented access to all sides. He offers insight into life under military occupation and living under the threat of a terrorist attack. The doc also examines the mindset of the men behind the violence. In the first part, Kemp travels to Gaza and meets the communities caught in the crossfire. In episode two, Kemp heads to Israel to discover a country surrounded by enemies. He commented: "Like many other people I’ve grown up with news stories about the Middle East without really understanding the issues. I hope that the two documentaries, one in Israel and one in Gaza, will give people a better understanding of this complex and troubled part of the world."

A number of other Ross Kemp specials have aired on Sky1 HD, including Ross Kemp on Gangs, Ross Kemp in Afghanistan and Ross Kemp: A Kenya Special

Celia Taylor, the commissioning editor of factual and features for Sky1 HD, Sky1, Sky2 and Sky3, said: "Once again Ross Kemp promises to take us beyond the headlines and get to the heart of what is really going on. By talking to those involved from both sides of the conflict Ross will provide an eye opening and impartial view and allow us to hear the extraordinary stories from the people that are at the heart of the conflict."
