New Programming EVP at Telemundo

MIAMI: Telemundo has announced the appointment of Adriana Ibañez as executive VP of programming, upped from her role as senior VP within the group.

Continuing to report to Don Browne, the president of Telemundo, Ibañez is to lead the programming strategy, scheduling, strategy integration and film acquisitions for the network. She takes on additional responsibility for the oversight of the development and strategy for Telemundo’s content on Televisa’s Channel 9 in Mexico and for the Telemundo Cable Network, available in Mexico and throughout Latin America. This comes alongside her responsibilities for the U.S. market. Ibañez joined Telemundo in 2003 as the senior VP of scheduling and strategy for the network, and prior to this was VP of programming for Canal Caracol in Colombia.

“Adriana’s exceptional leadership has been an essential part of Telemundo’s unprecedented ratings success,” said Browne. “Her talent, expertise and deep understanding of our viewers preferences, in the U.S. and abroad, have been a huge asset to the company and the executive team. In her new role, she’s very well positioned to continue leading Telemundo’s ratings growth well into the future.”
