New-Media Download Portal Scores Major Content Deals

CANNES, October 17: Filmon.com, a new download portal set to
launch November 1, has secured content deals with more than 50 companies,
including CBC in Canada for 140 hours of television programming.

The new deals expand Filmon.com’s library to more than 5,000
commercial titles and more than 8,000 adult titles available for download.
Among the 50-plus companies that have aligned with Filmon.com for online
distribution of feature film and television programming are CBC, Playboy,
Screen Media, Revelation Films, Tomwill and Cinetel Films, among others.

CBC has licensed 140 hours of television programming to
Filmon.com, including shows like Cirque Du Soleil. Filmon.com has also reached a 20-title-per-month
worldwide distribution deal with Playboy.

Upon launch, there will be approximately 10,000 titles
available, but the company plans to add thousands more films and hours of TV
programming to its SuperMall through a broad range of content licensing
agreements over the next few months.

Gary Shoefield, the director of programming at Filmon,
commented: “I’m proud of the fact that so many companies have such faith in
Filmon and the new world of VOD, it’s definitely the way forward. We look forward
to providing clients with a service that provides a platform which allows
customers to supply and download content worldwide.”
