New MD at MGM Networks Germany

MUNICH: Christine Brand has been upped to managing director of MGM Networks (Deutschland), and will be tasked with oversight of day-to-day affairs for channel operations in Germany and German-speaking markets in Europe.

She will be responsible for programming, marketing, sales and technical operations. Brand takes over from Marcus Ammon, who has led the channel for the last six years and is now moving on to a top programming position with Sky Germany. Having joined MGM Networks (Deutschland) in 2003, Brand most recently served as director of programming and on air promotion for the MGM Channel in Germany. Brand previously served as director of programs at Fox Kids Germany.

Bruce Tuchman, the president of MGM Networks, commented: "I have worked with Christine for many years and she has developed and grown into a talented and incredibly skillful programmer and manager. She was the first employee I recruited to join the MGM Channel in Germany when we launched and has made great contributions in our efforts to expand the channel in Germany as well as other markets around the world. Given her dedication, knowledge of the brand, our library and her great loyalty to our businesses around across the globe, it gives me great pleasure to name her to this top position as she will lead us in our future expansion in this key market. I also want to give my thanks to Marcus for all he has done to take our channel to great heights. We all look forward to working closely with him in the future."

Brand said, “I’ve enjoyed the challenge of launching our channels in territories throughout the world, and creating a very compelling service that is seen all across German-speaking Europe. And now I am excited to be taking on this new role at MGM Networks and look forward to making bigger contributions to the company.”
