New Management Structure at UKTV

LONDON, May 10: UKTV’s recently installed CEO, David
Abraham, has announced a new management structure for the BBC/Virgin Media
Television joint venture that operates 10 channels.

Outgoing COO John Keeling will be replaced by a new
Controller who will assume responsibility for all programming, commissioning,
marketing and new media content. This role will be responsible for the
editorial vision of the UKTV portfolio of 10 channels, and will report on a
day-to-day business basis to Abraham, and to Jana Bennett, the director of BBC
Vision for long-term content strategy. The position will be advertised from this
week, with final selections in June.

Laurence Dawkin-Jones, commercial director, has been
promoted to the new role of executive director, commercial, with overall responsibility for the management of
UKTV platform relationships, business development, program supply, rights
management and legal affairs.

Julia Jordan, director of business strategy and
communications, has been promoted to the new position of executive director of
business and operations.

Jo Bromley, head of finance, has been given a greater remit,
taking over full responsibility for the financial functions of the
business.

Following the restructure, David Dorans, general manager and
new media director, will be leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.

Commenting on these changes, Abraham said: “This leaner
structure will enable us to act more swiftly as we increase our scale and
strength in the fast changing media landscape.”
