New Fox Reality Series to Follow Police Academy Trainees

LOS ANGELES, October 23: In May of next year, Fox Reality
Channel will launch the tentatively titled The Academy, a series from Scott Sternberg Productions that
follows recruits training to be deputy sheriffs in Los Angeles.

Filming begins on October 30, otherwise known as "Black
Monday," the recruits' first full day of training at the Los Angeles
County Sheriff's Department Training Academy. The show will follow them as they
endure physical and mental training challenges over the course of 18 weeks. The
10×1-hour series launches in May.

"Fox Reality was chosen over a variety of networks to
produce this series with Scott Sternberg," said David Lyle, the GM of Fox
Reality. "We are honored to showcase one of the premier Sheriff's
Departments in the U.S."
