New Five-Part Series for Animal Planet

SILVER SPRING, April 14:
Animal Planet will premiere its new series Raw Nature, which gives first-hand accounts of wildlife
professionals working in the field, on April 29 at 9 p.m., airing for five
consecutive weeks.

From executive producers
Thom Beers (Deadliest Catch,
Ice Road Truckers
) and Bertram van Munster (The Amazing Race, Oprah's Big Give), Raw Nature features an immersive look at the intersection between human nature
and animal instincts, as filmmakers file field reports in the moment and on
camera of their various wild encounters. The program also has an emphasis on
conservation, preservation and an understanding of survival.

"Raw Nature fits perfectly with our "Jaws &
Claws" Tuesday night programming," commented Marjorie Kaplan, the president and general manager of Animal Planet Media. "It's
a striking new entertainment perspective on animal adventures with non-experts.
I think our viewers really will connect with these producers who are caught off
guard with the natural world and would themselves react in much the same
way."
