New Deals for Cyber Group

PARIS: Cyber Group Studios has announced a raft of international deals with broadcasters and licensees on its suite of properties, and is developing a new book-based property, Zou (Zee).

The company announced at MIPTV the acquisition of the rights to adapt Zou (Zee), a book series published in France by l’École des Loisirs. Its creator, Michel Gay, will be responsible for the artistic direction of the show, about a 5-year-old zebra named Zou. The show will target the 3 to 6 set, building on Zou‘s brand recognition in such markets as the U.S., Germany, South Korea, Spain, Japan and others.

Cyber Group also announced several new sales on its flagship preschool property Ozie Boo, The 78×7-minute show, co-produced with TIJI in France, has gone to Good TV in Taiwan, Hop TV in Israel, Astro in Malaysia and TG4 in Ireland. Plus, Disney Italy acquired the third season as well as the Christmas special Winter Adventures, as has the RTV channel in Slovenia. In addition, a DV deal was closed in Brazil with California Filmes. Merchandise deals have also been secured for Ozie Boo!, including TSS and Albena in the footwear sector for Europe, and Ambar for luggage. Plus, publisher Albin Michel is on board for new books.

Manon, also airing on TIJI, picked up slots on TV2 (Norway), Duna TV (Hungary), Al Jazeera Childrens Channel (Middle East), V‐me (USA), Mini Mini (Poland), Canal Panda (Portugal) and on Hop TV (Israel). The series is also being released on DVD in Slovenia by Video Art, and by California Filmes in Brazil.

In Hungary, TV2 opted for Mission 414, while the new series Tales of Tatonka was presold to Al Jazeera Childrens Channel, TV2 Norway and Mediaway Poland, which has also entered into an accord on the entire preschool catalogue of Cyber Group Studios.
