New Co-Productions, Acquisitions for BBC America

NEW YORK, October 2: BBC America, which passed the 50
million mark this summer, today announced three new drama co-productions and a
slate of new acquisitions.

In making the announcement, Darren Childs, the MD of global
TV channels at BBC Worldwide, noted, "BBC America continues to go from
strength to strength gaining viewers, adding distribution, winning awards and
huge critical acclaim. As the BBC's flagship international channel, its success
offers the organization a blueprint from which to develop new channels around
the globe and further platforms within the U.S."

The three new co-productions, set to air next year, are: Goldplated, an 8×1-hour comic family
saga set in a world of the nouveaux riche, from World Productions; the 2-hour
TV movie After Thomas, a true-life story of a couple's struggle to meet the
challenges of their child's autism; and Paul Abbott’s latest drama The
Innocence Project
, a
8×1-hour Tightrope Pictures production.

The new acquisitions include Eleventh Hour and Northern Lights, from Granada International; Afterlife, a 6×1-hour from BBC
Worldwide Americas; and a slate of offerings from Fremantle International
Distribution, including How Clean is Your House?, Beatles Biggest
