New Channels GM at BBC Worldwide America

NEW YORK: Perry Simon is to take on the role of general manager of channels for BBC Worldwide America as of September 7.

Simon will be responsible for the growth strategy and creative direction of BBC America, BBC America HD, Video on Demand, BBCAmerica.com, and future content distribution platforms for the company’s U.S. operations. He is tasked with driving programming, marketing and operations for BBC America, as well as commissioning original programming for the channel collaborating with BBC public service, BBC Worldwide Productions and the creative communities in the U.S. and U.K. Simon’s career has mostly been within senior executive posts at NBC, Viacom and his own Paramount-based production company, Shore View Entertainment.
