ESPOO: In the two weeks since its launch, Angry Birds 2, the latest edition of Rovio Entertainment's mega-popular mobile game, has been downloaded 30 million times around the globe, with a third of that amount coming from China.

Angry Birds 2 is the direct sequel to the original bird-flinging game created by Rovio back in 2009. The new version—described on its website as "Bigger. Badder. Birdier."—introduces a new young bird named Silver. It also features Red, who's known as the angriest bird; Chuck, the fastest bird on Piggy Island; Matilda, who longs for peace; Bomb, who explodes; Terence, whose anger makes him heavier; and The Blues, the "triple threat of feathered fury."

Angry Birds is now the most downloaded game of all time. The franchise has expanded into publishing, licensing, animation, books and location-based entertainment. An Angry Birds movie is slated for release in May 2016.
