New Acquisitions for SCI FI U.K.

LONDON, September 6: The SCI FI Channel in the U.K. has
announced a raft of new acquisitions, including the second season of CBS
Paramount’s Medium, SCI FI U.S.’s big
summer hit Eureka, and the TNT
mini-series Nightmares & Dreamscapes.

The 22-episode Medium,
airing in the U.S. on NBC, launches on the channel October 16.
“Medium
has been an unqualified success on
SCI FI,” said Jon Farrar, the programming director at the channel. "It has
outperformed our expectations by helping to bring in new audiences and improve
ratings week on week. The second season will air in the same Monday 9 p.m. slot
as the first and will provide the perfect platform for launching SCI FI's Q4
schedule.”

The channel also scooped up season five of The Dead Zone, following the success of the first four seasons.
Also from CBS Paramount International Television, the 12-episode series
launches October 31.

Other acquisitions include Dead Like Me, from MGM, which launches October 25; NBC Universal
International TV Distribution’s A Town Called Eureka, set to launch early next year following an initial
run on Sky One; and Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of
Stephen King
, produced for TNT and
distributed by Warner Bros. International Television Distribution.
