Netflix Creates Position to Oversee Indie Offerings

BEVERLY HILLS, October 30:
Netflix has appointed Lisa Nishimura-Seese to the newly-created position of VP
of independent content acquisition, where she will focus exclusively on ramping
up the online movie rental service’s indie offerings.

In the new position,
Nishimura-Seese will be responsible for broadening the selection of independent
and small studio films that Netflix offers its more than 7 million subscribers.
Most recently, Nishimura-Seese was general manager of New York-based Palm
Pictures, an independent theatrical and home video studio for which she oversaw
strategic planning, creative direction and new business development. She joined
Palm Pictures in 2002 as head of national sales.

"I have long admired
Lisa's innovative and creative insights in the home entertainment and
independent film worlds,” said Netflix COO, Ted Sarandos, to whom
Nishimura-Seese will report. “Her role at Palm Pictures positions Lisa
perfectly for success in this new position. I am thrilled to have her on the
team."
